From Rothenburg to München

9 mei 2017 - München, Duitsland

Yesterday we had a great day in Rothenburg. It's such a pretty place, we felt like we shrank and put in a snowglobe with a cute christmas village...but without the snow of course! We did visite a christmas shop actually....and it didn't look like a shop at all; more like an entertainmentpark. And man....we felt like little kids in a candyshop. There were all kinds of wooden stuff; nutcrackers, dioramas and ornaments for the tree and the whole building was turned into a miniature christmas market. Really well done! We also visited a craftsmen house from 1270 in original state. Pretty impressive, especially when you imagine that a whole family lived here with 15 kids or so. After that we went to check out the rest of the village and had some splendid views from the Burggarten. Of course we needed some fuel too and some bratwurst mit sauerkraut sounded perfect. For desert we had a schneeball, a Rothenburger special made from cookie dough which is fried (wasn't oily at all though) and all kind of toppings and fillings. The one covered and filled with chocolate was delicious.

In the late afternoon we headed to München which was easy to reach, even parking was super simple. But that was not the best part of our arrival yet; when we got to our accomodation we were welcomed by: a dog (and his boss)! A super cute big and fluffy golden retriever, which is so enthousiastic and can look adorable. His fur is changing to the summer season big time, but he's too lovely to ignore. So yeah...our clothes are full of his hair. And when we stop petting him...he can really give us the eye. Really funny...but we feel so weak every time we spoil him again after we got our clothes almost free of his hair and just washed out hands. But well...I can go on and on about this dog, we did do some other stuff today; visiting the Altstadt and the Residenz (the palace), where we saw the Theater und Schatzkammer today. Really beautiful and pretty, we even had the theatre for ourselves cause there were no other visitors. And all the big crowns, excessive jewellery and other precious stone decorated stuff was stunning. I felt so...basic and in need for some big stones too. Bogdán didn't want to buy me anything though so luckily it didn't last too long. Tomorrow we are gonna see the rest of the palace. We had dinner in a great Brauhaus! Not in the centre so mostly Germans and there were a LOT! This place was huge and packed but still very cosey and atmospheric. We had everything you should have in a place like that: some big beers, pork meat, sausages, pretzels and dumplings. So yeah...we're having a great time and we can't believe we're on holiday for just 2,5 days. And it will get really warm and sunny the next coming days (20-22 degrees) so we are looking forward to that too. Now I really need to give attention to Bill, the dog, cause he's shoving his nose under my texting arm for the 10th time now and even starts to sigh!! I'm sooo weak!!
